Give yourself and MARY a little time

  • Use the sensor regularly every night.
  • Stay relaxed and check the data in the morning.
  • This way, you’ll gradually get to know your baby’s individual patterns.

Over time, you’ll develop a sense of what’s good for your baby, what’s normal and when it’s worth receiving notifications.

Information on battery status

The coloured outer ring on the Home button indicates, in quarters, how much power is left in the Marienkäfer’s battery.

You can see the exact battery level of the ladybird to the right of the Home button. It shows you whether there is still enough power or whether it would be better to charge it. If the level is below 40%, please charge it before use to prevent the battery from running out overnight.

Temperature trends rather than individual readings. What parents should know:

MARY shows you whether the temperature remains stable, rises or falls. It is precisely this trend that is particularly helpful, as babies’ and children’s temperature regulation is not yet fully developed.

Immediately after charging, the temperature reading may be slightly higher for a short time.

This is due to the heat generated by the inductive charging process. Please disregard this reading. The sensor takes a few minutes to adjust to your child’s body.

View the daily progress

In the app’s main view, tap one of the four health icons.

For example, tap the thermometer icon to view the body temperature throughout the day. By selecting a date in the daily view, you can switch to temperature trends for specific days.

The trends are stored for 1 year.

How does my child sleep?

MARY’s smart movement algorithm uses movement patterns to figure out whether the child is asleep, lying on their belly, awake, crying or getting up quietly.

Icons and meanings

  • child is sleeping

  • Child sleeping on belly

  • Baby is awake or crying

  • Child has stood up and is moving

As every child sleeps with their own level of activity, and this changes as they go along different stages of growth, you can customise the movement algorithm to fit your child’s individual needs.

The silent danger whilst you’re asleep...

Did you know that almost one in ten children aged between 3 and 6 sleepwalk or simply get up in the night?

If you’d like to be kept informed

Only enable the alerts and notifications you really need and when you want to be notified.

Otherwise, use the system as a silent companion and check your history at your leisure rather than being on constant standby.

A temperature of 37.5°C is sufficient to detect an elevated temperature, heat build-up or a feeling of heat.

  • Recognising sleepwalking

    Enable these two alerts:

    • Info when child sits down or stands up
    • Info when child is alert or moving around

Adjust the volume

You can adjust the volume of the alarms using your smartphone’s media volume controls.
