How does it work in everyday life?

Put on clothes, attach MARY, start the app - security is activated.

Can the ladybird be worn with any outfit?

MARY has been specifically designed as a system comprising a sensor and well-fitting clothing.

Our experience shows that reliable measurements can only be obtained if the sensor sits securely close to the body.

MARY clothing ensures that the ladybird sensor stays where it belongs. This cannot be guaranteed with ‘any’ clothing.

However, MARY clothing feels just like any soft, high-quality nightwear or underwear; it is washable and can, of course, also be worn in everyday life without the sensor.

Is the matching clothing available in different sizes and designs?

Yes.
The clothes are available in sizes 50–140. Here you’ll find our range of compatible baby and children’s clothes in various designs and styles.

Is the sensor comfortable for the baby?

Yes.
The sensor is soft, light and barely noticeable while sleeping.

Is the sensor a cause for concern because it is positioned directly against the chest?

No.
The ladybird contains medically certified sensors.

The ladybird transmits data via Bluetooth Low Energy (Class 3 – a low-radiation technology that is medically approved) to the transmitter/receiver station, which then communicates with the smartphone via a secure mobile internet connection.

MARY has been thoroughly checked and tested and has been classified as safe for health. The radiation emitted by the ladybird is much lower than that from conventional Wi-Fi cameras and baby monitors.

Will children take the ladybird off?

No.
For the very youngest children aged 0–2, we offer wrap-around bodysuits and pyjamas in which the ladybird is discreetly hidden without arousing the baby’s curiosity.

For children aged 2 and over, we have developed a child-friendly story, which is included as a small picture book (also available as an audiobook). This means that MARY can be explained in a loving way during the bedtime routine when the ladybird appears on the pyjamas.

In our experience, children want to keep the ladybird on their pyjamas of their own accord, rather than taking it off.

Does the ladybird fall off while sleeping?

No.
The ladybird is clinging firmly to the garment.

For which age group is the system suitable?

MARY by sticklett can be used from birth until around the age of 10 – that is, until children’s immune systems have fully developed.

Can I keep an eye on my baby’s vital signs at any time and from anywhere?

Yes.
You can use your smartphone to monitor your child from anywhere you have an internet connection.

However, the distance between the base station and the Ladybird must not exceed 4 metres, as the Ladybird communicates with the transmitter/receiver station via Bluetooth Low Energy (Class 3).

Is Wi-Fi required to use it?

No.
MARY by sticklett does not require any Wi-Fi configuration. All you need is a smartphone with an internet connection.

Does MARY by sticklett replace the clinical thermometer?

The clinical thermometer measures individual readings.

MARY shows the trend and helps you keep track of the overall picture.

You can see whether the temperature is stable, rising or falling. This makes things easier, especially at night.

It’s also easier to interpret fluctuations in temperature and to decide more calmly whether further observation is sufficient or whether it’s advisable to check the temperature again with the thermometer.

Does MARY by sticklett replace a baby monitor?

MARY is not a traditional baby monitor with audio or a camera, but it can do more in many everyday situations.

By detecting periods of movement and rest, MARY can indicate whether a child is asleep or waking up and notify parents accordingly.

Many families therefore use MARY by sticklett as a quiet alternative or addition to a baby monitor: no noise, no screen, but with an overview of what’s been happening in the app.
